Danish meltie

An easy and satisfying lunch.

What you need

400 g wholemeal baguettes
1 beef tomato, sliced
1 small red onion, peeled and sliced
75 g sliced mozzarella cheese
3 rashers cooked rindless back bacon
1 salad onions, trimmed and sliced
seasoning

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C.

  2. Cut the baguette into slices at regular intervals diagonally but not all the way through the base. Place onto a baking tray.

  3. In between each of these slices, arrange the slices of tomato, onion, cheese, bacon and salad onions. Season to taste.

  4. Heat in the oven for 8-10 min or until the cheese melts. Serve immediately.
